Strategy Digests
Read through all of our archived content from our history with the Football Manager series
Over the years, FM-Britain has produced a number of tactical articles and guides to help people through their virtual management careers. In recent years, we have begun to compile these guides into easy-to-read e-books and download packages. Our older articles are also available on our main site. From the widely known Tactical Theorems & Frameworks to Communication and Psychological Warfare via our Tactical Bible. We also offer a wealth of information via our forums.
Tactical Theorems & Frameworks
TT&F 2009 Tactical Theorems & Frameworks (TT&F) is the brain child of our resident tactical guru Richard “wwfan” Claydon. Since 2006 it has been the flagship guide of FM-Britain. For 2009 it has had an overhaul, including Sports Interactive’s Paul Collyer’s seal of aproval.
The Full TT&F 2009 Guide – The full and up to date guide is available here, including:
- Tactical Theorems and Frameworks ’09: 50-page PDF document detailing all tactical instructions
- TT&F ’09 Crib Sheet: 2-page pdf document referencing basic instructions
- TT&F ’09 Tactical Wizard: Excel-based wizard providing a step-by-step tactical design guide
- TT&F ’09 Tactics: 72 generic tactics that can be used as alternatives to those provided by the game
TT&F 2008 TT&F is back once more for the third edition of the acclaimed guide. Written by Richard “wwfan” Claydon, this year’s edition is completely revamped for the new FM season, and now includes contributions from the Tactical Think Tank, as well as the main man himself.
The guide is available in HTML format from this site:

The Tactical Bible
The FM-B Tactical Bible is a collaborative effort amongst our more active tactical minds to create an in depth and all-encompassing guide to tactics and match performance. Originally written for FM2007, it has been reviewed for FM2008. Plans are currently afoot to re-index and polish the guide to bring it up to date with the latest developments in the game.
Tactical Bible Forum – All of our guides are indexed and available here. It’s the best place to browse first, containing a wealth of information and discussion on key tactical concepts.
The Forums
Probably the best place of all to get information is the forums. Our articles will answer most general questions you may have, but if you want to ask further questions or bounce ideas off other tactically-minded people, then we have a community ready and waiting to be exploited. There are general forums for discussing tactical concepts, the Tactical Bible forum which indexes and discusses our latest TB articles, the research forum which collates different styles from around the globe, and the usual downloads and training discussions which you would expect to find on a tactics site.
Tactical Research Forum - with discussions on real-world tactics and updates to the TT10 Appendix.
Training Forum - for discussion and downloads of training schedules and systems.
Tactics, Training and Player Management Forum - for general enquiries and discussion.
