Had some great advice from Xulu the other day, and have already some instant results in creating a more effective 4-4-2 system. What i now need to nail down is the correct way to press in a 4-4-2, without getting passed around like a bunch of headless chickens.
I play fairly neutrally, so all the advice so far I have had to date is to keep the settings on mixed. I find though that if I do this we just get passed through as we have minimal pressure on the ball. Alternatively if I put the pressing too high the success rate of winning the ball back is lower than 50%.
In reading the Tactics Bible on the site, it doesnt speak specifically of how to build pressing as a unit. It really only touches on pressing within a back 4.
Does anyone have any advice on how to effectively press the ball from the front, taking into consideration the knock on effect of the whole team shape?

This thread provides a few examples. Levo put up a featured article for the mainsite awhile ago here.
Pressing is a hard thing to do, especially at lower levels. A lot of LLaMas like to press very little and keep a compact shape. In a 4-4-2, this is accomplished with two banks of four and maybe a forward dropping a little deeper to help.
