I have just recently installed FM2011 on my laptop while my desktop is out of action.

Steam has auto updated to 11.2 but not 11.2.1, I tried to d/l 11.2.1 PC version but had to uninstall as I was being asked for the disc.

So my question is because I will be starting a game from scratch & will therefore not encounter the "polish league" bug, do I need 11.2.1??

I've no idea what the bugs were in previous versions of the game, so I've no idea whether you need any of the patches to play the game in the way you play it.

Steam updates for you automatically - the downloadable versions from the website are designed for the disc version of the game. If you have Steam, don't download other patches. If the patch isn't available through Steam yet, chances are you don't need it.

Steam will automatically try to patch the game, though. I'm unsure if there's any way to stop it from doing so. Hopefully some other helpful soul knows the answer to that.

Allow me to jump in with my own problem, since there's a relation with the topic.

I'm now using FM11 with 11.2.1 patch, but since that patch i experience an oddity in my save. i Create a new save with Wolsfburg, and ever since the first season i always have these odd unexpected goals (scores and against)after i made a subtitution. For example, in my second season i played Leverkusen away, it's 73" and we leaded 0-1, then i made a player change, and suddenly right after i confirm my change and back from the tactical screen into the pitch, the score has changed to 1-1, in all of a sudden (the report said that the goal was made at the exact same time as i made the sub). And then, when i decided to make another sub, (in 78") just like previous pattern, the score suddenly changed to 2-1 to Leverkusen's favor, WTF??? At the end of the match, we lose 3-1.

Well, not all of these odd result are make us suffer, some of them are in favor to us (a 2-1 against Bayern, for example). But they happened so often that i can safely say it's a bug, a severe one.

I'm in my 4th season now, and it still happens. Additional info: i'm using "only commentary" for my match report.

Anyone with the same problem? Any advice or sharing will be very much appreciated. Thank you very much.
