2. FMB gang dosnt want to spend the time anymore
3. It all falls apart
Makes you wonder, was it for the money, cause if it was for missing hands, just ask arround....
Just dont get it, i most be missing an important piece in the puzzle, plz tell.

It's called the "tarred with the same brush" effect - evidenced by your very post - and I, for one, don't like it.

The post i made is just because i was disappointed, cause FMB is one off my favorite sites.
Theres no doubt that i appreciate the great work theres been done over the years here at FMB

Theres no doubt either that i think it was wrong to sell an ebook and why is that, cause the
book is only someones thoughts, it not an manual, its not conclusive only thoughts, and who will pay for thoughts ?
not me

Before i became an LLaMa, i read all that was posted by the clever people here at FMB, many off there thoughts
might be right, but just as many proved to be wrong, being a LLaMa is a real eyeopener to the game.
Still i cant say much about it, cause i don't tip ....

Agreed - Keith, I think this needs to be sorted soon or we could start losing people.
I mean, I'm not going anywhere and I'm sure there are a few others who feel like that, but I bet there are a good few who could drift away.
If a decision is made to find a new home then fine, but while we have no other home then shouldn't we keep the section going?

This isn't a knee-jerk reaction to any one thing (although it was something specific which spurred it now) - it's been on the cards for a while. As I intimate above, continuing an association with people who are doing this for the money has put me in an uncomfortable position personally, and while those people continue to represent themselves as some kind of "managing director" of the site, or "primary" over the rest of us who may not share their goals and reasons for doing this, then it only makes the situation more and more indefensible and untenable from my point of view.
One of the major problems though, beyond any one incident, perhaps not immediately evident, but important nonetheless, is that some of the decisions around the selling of the guide and during some of the fallout since have shattered the bonds that made the site's staff team so strong in the past. There has always been an unspoken acknowledgement that each member of the staff team is part of a "team of equals" each respected for what they brought to the site and any decisions taken would be mindful of that. However, some of the actions and statements made on behalf of the whole site over that time did not display this mutual respect in my opinion (not just towards me) and it has further become clear to me over recent weeks that this "lesson" has not altogether been understood or assimilated fully - or simply ignored if it has.
When a bond of unspoken and implicit trust is broken it's very, very hard to repair - and while I'm sure every member of the staff team want the best for the site, I'm no longer certain our goals are shared or our aims compatible.
That is unfortunate, and I could try to paint you a prettier picture, but I don't want to put a false spin on things.
I won't name individuals or go into details, nor do I want to imply that anyone has done anything "wrong" as such. It's just that sometimes people want different things and it can create friction when not everyone wants the same things or sees things the same way. That, in a nutshell, is the core of the problem, I think. Whether it can be resolved, I genuinely don't know at this point.

In fact - he was very good ref, anybody knows something about him - what he is doing in the moment and etc?
Little bit offtopic, so excuse me.

He had to retire as he reached the ripe ol' age of 48 years old.
I believe he is a magistrate 'by trade', so maybe he still does that?

IMO obv.
Clattenburg may be poor in his decision making and communication but I'd rather have him than Rennie any day.

I just know that after an afternoon there, I'll end up sloshed on cheap whisky at 4am, chain smoking and managing River fucking Plate.

Personally, it wouldn't be the same if it wasn't at FM-B. I have a hard enough time as it it juggling this place with The Hut, remembering who's who on which one without having to add a third joint to the mix

Although we've had offers to be hosted on various other community sites, I've taken into account your comments in the Pen thread and talked it over with JP and in the end we've decided to set up our own independent site - mainly because it gives us a much greater degree of control over our own destiny kinda thing.
I've obtained a new domain and hosting, so it's just a case now of transferring over the forum to a new board on the new domain. I'll look at what's needed to do that today.
Stay tuned.
