Just because there's no dedicated LLM section doesn't mean we're all going to desert FM-B en masse. I hope I speak for most of the LLMers when I say we like it here. And there's no reason for us not to carry on having a presence in the non-tipping areas of the forum, the same way we always have.

Right, in an attempt to steer this thread back away from Benitez related oblivion, I've got to say that here Andy has pretty much summed up how I feel. I'll certainly continue to come here if/when the LLM section has a new home.

There's always good chat in the members and games areas of the site.

Disappointing to hear that it's come to this, especially after I re-found this place only a few weeks back (and no, it isn't my fault that things have gone tits up!  )

Like it's been said, I don't see any reason why LLMers can't visit both sites. There's still a community based feel to this place, so it would take something more than a split to completely ruin one/both sites.

I know the comments above weren't all directed at me, but just to make sure: I wasn't suggesting I couldn't regularly visit FM-B after the split, but I'd suggest 99% of my time here is in the LLaMa forum; I've gone months without visiting other FM-B forums more than once before, so it wouldn't be outrageous for me to not bother at all when FM-B is a completely different forum entirely.

I think I misunderstood "our" move. Will the new LLM site only be an LLM site? Because then, of course, I'll still come back here for the Member's Lounge and Games Room discussions. If the new LLM site will have it's own football talk etc, I'll still come here, but less so than normal.

Well I think that up to us (well, up to Keith anyway :D). From what he's been saying, I get the impression he wants to make it more then just LLM and I'd certainly be keen to see it go in that direction. If we're going to go through the whole process of starting our own site then we might as well do it properly.

As long as there's a music section for me to waffle on about bands that no one else gives a shit about, I'll be happy.  ;)

That said, I'll still come back here, but maybe not as often as I do now. Who knows - I don't think I'll really know that until it happens. I do like it here though and it's a shame that it's splitting up.

I like the idea of a realistic played game site kinda thingy. If there is a LLM forum that lets me post updates like I have been.... That's where I'll go.

other than that

Didn't even know you did that here tbh

That just about sums it up for me.

The idea is that it will be... whatever we want it to be. LLM will form the foundation and where the initial focus will be, but where it will go from there is entirely up to us.  Other sections, blogs, reviews, off topic chat, whatever. My only pre-condition is that it probably shouldn't be solely about LLM - that way leads to niche-ism and stagnation imo. I like the idea of things having some kind of link with the LLM ethos in some way, but even that's not rigid.

We need to walk before we think about running, but I'm open to any ideas as to which direction the site as a whole takes as we move forward.

The divorce isn't messy btw. We're grown ups after all. ;)

Update: Hit a slight hitch in transitioning the LLM forum over to the new site - hopefully not a big one, but it will delay things until we can figure out a solution. The forum was closed in order to 'freeze' it for the transition, but rather than continuing to keep it closed while we're figuring things out, I'm going to temporarily restore the LLM forum until we do. Hopefully this will be done within the next few days barring any further unforeseen hitches, so if you see it suddenly disappear again, you'll know why. ;D

When the forum transition is completed, I'll be sending a mail to all LLM Members only initially, inviting them to our new home - the site is literally bare bones at the moment and simply wouldn't pass muster as a proper "website", so I'll be extending the invitation to our existing members to help us shape, form and generally thrash out what the website will be. Think of it as doing it LLM style - starting from the very bottom and working our way up. :(

I'll continue keeping you updated in this thread. :comfort:

I hope you're happy. I've just had to re-register at The Hut. Me! I'm a dangerous anarchist compared to those people!

I just know that after an afternoon there, I'll end up sloshed on cheap whisky at 4am, chain smoking and managing River fucking Plate.

The Hut, actually has nothing to do with LLM, you're better off going to SI if you want 'LLM'. Still, I think you're doing yourself a dis-service, in different circumstances you'd fit in very well there. (On with reading the rest here....)

Sesquip - I'm not sure he intended to do himself a disservice. :comfort:

Deus - yes I think it very much started off that way, but these days many of people who go there are not LLaMas. The chat on there is also increasingly not about FM.
