If you want to correct the tournament and team names in FM10 here's what you need to do:
View this thread;
Download this file (available from that thread);
Extract the file you download and place it in C:Program FilesSports InteractiveFootball Manager 2010datadbXXXXlncall, or C:Program FilesSteamSteamAppscommonfootball manager 2010datadbXXXXlncall if you've installed using Steam(where XXXX is the database you used to start your game - in this case 1000);
Delete the fake and nleague files found in that directory;
You might also want to delete C:Program FilesSports InteractiveFootball Manager 2010datadb1000edtteam_holland or C:Program FilesSteamSteamAppscommonfootball manager 2010datadb1000edtteam_holland;
Next time you boot up FM, be sure to clear the skin cache as you would when installing a new skin and you should get the real names
Will these fix a save game? I know they never did in previous versions, used to annoy the hell out of me the fact that I'd have to start a new game just to get the real names.

They won't fix player names or the "missing" German and Japanese national teams, but they should change the competition names to their proper names. There's a file on Susie, I believe, which will give you all the real competition names.

That's the one linked to in the first post
b_e - It will fix competition names after the start of a new game but NOT the Dutch national side type of issues.
Have a question about the team_holland.ddt file. Instead of deleting it, why not simply uncheck it in the preferences. Wouldn't that have basically the same effect on the game as deleting it completely?
In term of technical result - yes. But that will not mean that the Holland team will be with real names. Just because you will not have the file that fix them.

I deleted the fake file and other files in the folder that JP stated, so the Dutch team has real players. The reason why ask about that other file is because JP suggests to delete it, but it can be just turned off in the Preferences, so I was wondering if there's any difference.
Just an update
You can do this on a save game. Just select reload skin cache under display & sounds
in patch 10.3 I believe under Football Manager 2010dataupdatesupdate-1030db1030lncall are more of those irritating fake files
You can, but if you start a save with certain national teams "disabled" they continue to be disabled throughout the save (or it always used to be that way, anyhow).
