In the first of our new monthly contests here on FM-Britain, we’re giving our readers the opportunity to sound off and have their say!
Football Manager 2010′s release has been a massive success thus far hitting #1 on the U.K. all-formats video game charts in it’s first week. Projections indicate that it may very well end up beating the record sales set last year by FM09. It’s expected that a lot of new gamers will be picking up this title and may not be all that familiar with the depth and functionality of the feature-rich Football Manager series. We can see this being true on the tactical side of the game, although the new tactics creator has done a significant job in reducing the learning curve. FM-Britain would like to help these FM2010 newcomers and get you involved in the process!
For this month’s contest, we ask the following question:
What is the best tactical tip you can give to a new FM2010 gamer in one sentence?
Submit your reply to us and the person with the best answer will receive a free copy of Rome: Total War via digital download on Steam. Responses will be judged by Gareth Millward and the FM-Britain Tactical Think Tank – and must be entered by Saturday, November 28. We will then announce the winner on the site, on the podcast and also post up some of the best “runner-up” answers that were submitted by our readers.
Why is the prize a copy of Rome: Total War you ask? Simply put, we received it free from Sega! Sure, it doesn’t have much to do with Football Manager, but who’s going to turn down a $30 game for free? For those who may not know the game – Rome: Total War is a critically acclaimed best selling strategy game, composed of both turn-based strategy and real-time tactics, in which the player fights historical and fictitious battles set during late Roman Republic and early Roman Empire. Consider it Football Manager 2010 if Sir Alex Ferguson were replaced by Julius Caesar! (ok, not the best of analogies we admit…)
How can you reply and enter the contest?
There are three methods you can submit your replies. Whichever avenue chosen bares no difference in your chances of winning – we’re just looking to give everyone the most comfortable and easiest access to do so.
1. Post your answer on our Facebook fan page.
2. Send your reply to us on Twitter @FMBritain.
3. Post your entry in the contest thread on our community forums.
We hope to hear from all of you and look forward to the responses! Just a reminder though – we always appreciate funny, witty & clever replies so it may not be the “best” tip that actually wins, but the most hilariously written one!
